- What do Baptists believe?
Baptists accept Jesus Christ as their lord and savior. Baptists partake in two ordinances: believer baptism (when a person is old enough, they accept Jesus and are immersed in water) and The Lord's Supper. Baptists are also expected to share their talents and kindnesses.
- How is a Baptist church run?
The church is run completely by the members. Members call the minister, approve the budget, and make all the decisions for the church.
- Are all Baptist churches the same?
No. Like most other denominations, there are many types of Baptist churches. We belong to the American Baptist Churches USA. The American Baptist Churches USA are made up of 1.5 million members in 5,800 congregations.
- What is the service like?
The service normally lasts an hour. It is filled with much music, sharing of the word, and sermons that are designed to make a difference in your life. It is an uplifting hour of worship and devotion.
- How large is the church?
The church has 450 members and our average Sunday attendance is 175. Our Sunday School has 70 members.
- What is your attitude toward visitors?
We love visitors. Visitors may take communion and share actively in the service. We are an inclusive church. We do not use high pressure tactics following your visit. We want you to feel that God has led you to our church.
- Is your church handicap accessible?
Yes. We have an elevator and handicap accessible bathrooms on the main floor.
- Does your church have nursery service?
Yes. There is nursery service available every Sunday and for special services. The adult caregiver is trained and provides excellent care.
- How is the church financially supported?
Members provide the funds to run the church through their gifts and pledges. There is no requirement for tithing.
